James L. Chappuis MD FACS
James L. Chappuis, MD, FACS, is the visionary, founder, owner, Chief Executive Officer of Integrative Wellness Atlanta, a division of SpineCenterAtlanta, a comprehensive physician guided wellness center in Atlanta (Buckhead), Georgia. Dr. Chappuis holds a Bachelors of Science in Biology Summa Cum Laude from The University of Toledo (Ohio) and a Doctorate of Medicine from the Medical College of Ohio (Toledo, Ohio). He completed his Internship with Mercy Hospital in Toledo, Ohio, two Residencies, first in general surgery at Methodist Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee, and the second in orthopaedic surgery at the Campbell Clinic/University of Tennessee. Dr. Chappuis completed his AO Spine Fellowship with professor Jorgen Harms at Klinikum Karlsbad-Langensteinbach in Karlsbad, Germany.
Dr. Chappuis is certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgeons and the American Board of Spine Surgery. He is a clinical instructor with Georgia Regents University (formerly the Medical College of Georgia) in Augusta, Georgia, and has staff privileges with the Emory University Hospital Midtown. Dr. Chappuis has served numerous hospitals in the role of secretary of the medical staff, chief of surgery, chairman-elect department of surgery, editorial board Medical Association of Atlanta, chief of orthopaedic surgery and head of orthopaedic department. He is licensed to practice medicine in the states of Georgia, Florida and Tennessee.
Gidget Black APRN
Gidget Black, MSN, APRN, FNP-BC, is a Nurse Practitioner, board certified through the American Nurses Credentialing Center, and co-founder of Integrative Wellness Atlanta along with Medical Director and CEO, James L. Chappuis, MD, FACS. Gidget holds a Master’s Degree in Nursing with a certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner from the University of Cincinnati (Ohio). Having worked more than 20 years as a nurse, and later a Nurse Practitioner, she has a vast amount of experience. Gidget has worked several years alongside surgeons in the OR, and has advanced training in microscopic surgery as well as performing cosmetic skin closures.
Gidget began her interest in aesthetics while working as a surgical nurse at the world-renowned Kleinert Institute in Louisville, KY, where she assisted with reconstructive and microscopic surgeries of the upper extremities. She also became very interested in the integrative aspect of medicine while counseling patients about ways to facilitate the healing process at the cellular level with nutrition, and improving overall well-being by addressing their mental, physical, and emotional needs. Gidget has a passion for Integrative therapies that help people feel and look their best.
She has progressively sought out advanced training in evidence-based health and wellness therapies. At Integrative Wellness Atlanta, Gidget currently provides aesthetic injections using Botox/Dysport, dermal fillers, and PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma), medical weightloss, hCG weightloss, and other treatments such as Low T and Bioidentical Hormone Replacement therapies which assist with weightloss and overall wellbeing. Gidget also conducts evaluations and treatments for Coolsculpting, a revolutionary, FDA approved treatment for reduction of body fat through cryolypolysis.
